Meredith Parenti

Meredith Parenti handles appeals and litigation before state and federal courts at every level. She has a broad range of experience across industries and subject matter. She is Board Certified in Civil Appellate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. She has been recognized as a Top Rated Appellate Attorney by Super Lawyers every year since 2015.

Meredith enjoys being a creative and determined advocate for her clients, working hard to understand their problems and achieve their goals in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible. 

Before starting Parenti Law with her husband Mark, Meredith worked at the international law firm of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP in Houston and Austin, Texas, where she practiced before courts nationwide in the Commercial Litigation and Supreme Court and Appellate Practice groups.

Meredith also served as Assistant Solicitor General for the State of Texas, where she represented the State before the United States Supreme Court, the Texas Supreme Court, and federal and state courts of appeals, handling a number of significant constitutional cases.

Meredith received her J.D. with honors in 1996 from the University of Maryland School of Law, where she was editor in chief of the Maryland Law Review and a recipient of the Dean’s Award for Scholarship. Following graduation from law school, Meredith served as a law clerk to the Honorable Kenneth M. Hoyt of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas.

A native Houstonian, Meredith received her B.A. degree with honors in English and political science from Goucher College where she was Phi Beta Kappa and a Dean’s Scholar.

Meredith is the former chair of the Houston Bar Association’s Appellate Practice Section. She is a regular speaker at continuing legal education programs on trial and appellate topics. Meredith spends her free time learning Italian, practicing yoga, and enjoying the great outdoors.
